Stephan Herbst is a Technical General Manager at Toyota Motor Europe (TME) with specific responsibility for sustainable mobility and Toyota’s European hydrogen strategy.
Stephan studied business administration and economics and holds a Ph.D. in management. He then worked in various functions for the Volkswagen Group in Germany and China. In 2005 he joined TME with responsibility for the environmental and stakeholder strategy in Europe before moving to Toyota’s Global Headquarters in Japan in 2010.
He has been actively involved in various mobility projects of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) such as the Sustainable Mobility Project 1.0, Mobility for Development. Stephan is today a co-chair of the Sustainable Mobility Project 2.0.
