Importance of Approach

Respondents were asked to respond to a question about the ‘Importance of approach for Sustainable Materials Management in Iowa’. The question was:

‘How important do you think the following approaches are for Sustainable Materials Management in Iowa?’ Scale: 1 = Not at all important; 5 = Critically important.

Key things to note:

  • All six approaches were seen to be critically important. However, ‘Work with business and industry to find innovative methods to utilize waste materials for beneficial reuse (recycled content, products, packaging, etc)’ was seen as the most critically important approach.
  • The ‘increase the composting of organic waste (includes food, grass clippings, etc) approach was seen as not as critically important as the other five approaches.
