Importance to transition to sustainable materials management policy

Respondents were asked to respond to a question about the ‘Importance to transition to sustainable materials management policy’. The question was:

How important do you think it is for the State to transition from an integrated solid waste management policy to a sustainable materials management policy? (Aiming for the highest and best use of discarded materials and improved environmental protection).
Scale: 1 = Not at all important; 10 = Critically important

Key things to note:

  • The majority of respondents felt it was critically important for the State to transition from an integrated solid waste management policy to  a sustainable materials management policy.
  • ‘Private Residents’ were the affiliation group who overwhelmingly felt it was critically important.
