Likelihood of transition to sustainable materials management policy

Likelihood of transition to sustainable materials management policy

Respondents were asked to respond to a question about the ‘Likelihood of transition to sustainable materials management policy’. The question was:

How likely do you think there will be a transition from an integrated solid waste management policy approach to a sustainable materials management policy approach in the near future? (Move to aiming for the highest and best use of discarded materials and improved environmental protection)  Scale: 1 = Not at all likely; 10 = Definitely will happen

Key things to note:

  • The majority of respondents were undecided about the likelihood of there being a transition from an integrated solid waste management policy approach to a sustainable materials management policy approach in the near future.
  • The majority of respondents opted for 6 and 7, rather than 10 which was that it would definitely happen.
