Workforce and Skills

Workforce and Skills

Respondents were asked to respond to a question about workforce and skills. The question was:

  • Thinking about how the community should tackle workforce and skills development issues, what do you think should be the approach? Please select your preference on the following continuum.
  • Scale:1 = ‘Local workforce and skills sets are aligned to these industries’; 10 = ‘Equip the workforce with a broad set of skills for the future workplace’.

Key things to note:

  • Broadly, the data suggests people would prefer to see the local workforce equipped with a set of skills for the future workplace.
  • This recognition is not overly surprising, given the speed of change, and that Mitchell has gathered success as a tech center and in supporting industries that are built on technology and emerging trends.
