Heat-map – Scenario Matrix Validation Chart – All Data

This chart provides a method to validate the preferred future created via the heat maps. This ‘Scenario Matrix Validation Chart’ is created by building a preferred future from the answers to the ‘Important Theme’ questions.

  • These ‘Important Theme’ questions are subsets of the scenario axes, and by recombining each person’s answers we create a unique X, Y average.
  • Responses to the questions on Economic Focus, Workforce and Skills and Markets and Products, produced the X value for Economic focus and agility.
  • Responses to the questions on Collaboration Focus, Leadership and Investment, and Outlook and Perspective, produced the Y value for Community perspective.

This approach generates a notional Preferred Future, but one based on likely response to issues and expected behaviour in real-life. This provides a validation of the Preferred Future response based on the heat map diagram.

Key things to note:

  • The concentration of results mirrors to a significant degree the Preferred Future, which is an encouraging observation of behaviour matching aspiration.
  • The Think-Tank and public engagement survey groups most closely map over the preferred future, with the two student cohort groups dragging the concentration of responses to a more local focus, and back towards focusing on traditional strengthens. (use the Session Group filter).
  • The dashed line reflects the average point of the data being shown.
